"Prelude Nuevo" was inspired by some of my favorite musical "preludes." Preludes by Frederic Chopin and Clair Omar Musser are among those which came to mind when composing this work. This piece is meant to stand on its own and not be an introduction or preface to another composition. However, if the performer were to find a piece, or set of pieces, that work well paired up with Prelude Nuevo, then this piece would serve an additional purpose. Prelude Nuevo is the fourth work in an ongoing series of two-mallet concert pieces.
